Booking instructions: Start by selecting the date you wish to collect your booking (either from us or your postal agent), then select the date you intend to return the booking (either from us or your postal agent). The total cost for the rental period will then be visible (the price you see first is the price for the first day). After that, a lower daily rate is added, the price for 1 day is therefore not the price per day.

Product information

Jemtlander 14 is a complete system to cope with everything from simple day trips to the most demanding expeditions.

Jemtlander 14 consists of Pulkachassi J14 with pulley mounts and packing straps, which is reinforced with plastic meads underneath. Attached to this is a sling with harness, as well as 1 200 liter bag with drawstring and white sleeping pad at the bottom.

The sledge's design, with wide outer dimensions and a suitably high edge, provides the conditions for a compliant and very course-stable sledge. Which can handle very tough driving without tipping over.

Complete package with sled chassis, sled, harness, pack straps, sled and a 200 liter bag.

Outer dimensions: 1440 x 500 mm
Inside dimensions top edge: 1340 x 440 mm
Weight (without pulley bracket and packing straps): 2.7 kg
Material: HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) 300 which is UV protected. The material has an initial thickness of 4 mm. Polyethylene is the world's most common plastic material. It has gained its versatility and properties through its molecular structure. HDPE is stronger and denser than most other polyethylenes.

Constituents

The sled J14 sled chassis is delivered assembled with two skeel mounts adapted to Jemtlander's skeel and 4 packing straps mounted in the sled with a 6 mm coarse polyester silk line. The HDPE plastic is very strong and durable and the chassis is also reinforced with 2 extra plastic rods. Jemtlander prefers dumb rope for the packing straps because it secures the packing better. The choice of material and the well-balanced material thickness provide a relatively light and flexible sledge that adapts very well to the surface, which together with the plastic blades provides a very track-stable construction.

Shackel A stable shackel that can handle hard grips. The construction with tube arch and locked cross brace results in a very stable solution where, with the help of the shackel, you can handle a fully loaded sled in most situations. All parts are replaceable and can be taken apart and, for example, put in the ski case in connection with air or train travel. The sled attachment is mounted on the top so that the sled can be folded over the sled, which is an advantage if you want to bring the sled into the apse of the tent or in connection with storage or transport.

The harness is made of light and strong materials. A safety buckle makes it easy to open the harness in all conceivable situations. It is easy to adjust the belt so that the harness fits most waist sizes. Removable braces with adjustable length, suitable for people in height from approx. 150 cm to over 200 cm depending on back length. The construction provides a harness that works perfectly both for pulling lighter and heavier loads.

The 200 liter bag is perfectly adapted to the shape of the sled. It is designed to be able to be packed with enough equipment and in the field to more easily manage what is brought. Well-proportioned opening gives a good overview when looking for specific equipment. Jemtlander's recommendation is that it is advisable to limit the pack to approx. 150 litres. A larger sled can handle both larger and smaller packages and thus has a wider range of use. When the bag is closed, the remaining fabric is rolled down, then the straps are tightened to hold the bag with contents in place. When the remaining fabric is pulled tight to the sled, snow does not get between the bag and the Jemtlander sled. Some users prefer two bags as they can be easier to handle when packing and unpacking in a car or similar. If the idea is also to be able to use a child supplement, then the larger bag is needed to fit the child in.

The white sleeping mat at the bottom stiffens the bag, which both facilitates handling and provides a brighter inside to make it easier to see the contents in poor lighting conditions. Then it is a security to have an extra sleeping pad.

Detailed information

  • The shape with straight edges on the long sides and at the back makes it both easy to pack and provides a low center of gravity.
  • Low pack height in combination with the design of the sledge creates course stability, even in strong crosswinds, and reduces the risk of overturning.
  • Jemtlander's large surface area and the optimal slope at the front mean that the sled is both easy to pack and easy to pull because it floats well on the snow
  • The choice of material and the well-balanced material thickness provide a flexible sled that adapts very well to the surface, which overall results in a more track-stable construction.
  • The HDPE plastic in combination with the design of the hull also means that the Jemtlander weighs less than many other sled models.
  • The sled has an overhanging edge all around which stiffens the construction and is a protection for bags, straps and other things if you pull the sled against a rock, ice edge, tree or similar. The edge is also helpful in connection with lifting.
  • Eyelets in the front of the sled offer the possibility of pulling the sled with a rope. Eyelets on the back edge can be used if someone wants to help push the sled with the pole in reverse, or help brake with a rope on steep downhill runs. The eyelets also provide other possibilities to adapt the packing.
  • All bags have eyelets on the end so you can attach a strap to the eyelet at the back to prevent the bag from sliding forward.
  • The sled can be supplemented with 2 pcs. 8 mm thick plastic rails in hard HDPE plastic, which both strengthen the sled's edges and make it more stable on course. Increases the service life in case of heavy wear, for example when the sled is pulled behind a scooter or when using a kite. We recommend that you mount these if the purpose is slightly longer tours.
  • Height 12 cm. For the Jemtlander 14, this corresponds to approx. 60 litres. If you pack double the height, i.e. 24 cm pack height and a total of approx. 130 litres, so it corresponds to a trip during the spring-winter of approx. 1 week depending on who the pack is intended for and level of equipment. However, our experience is that it is normally better to have a larger sled, where the packing is spread out over a larger bearing surface.
  • A total package height of 24 cm provides a course-stable transport solution that follows without being affected by side winds and that is difficult to overturn.
  • Overall, a very stable and compliant crew.
